Modular BatteriesLearn More
Battery packs disappear inside the armrests so you can carry a spare and recharge anywhere for virtually unlimited range. The standard battery is 36v 10ah and in the future we'll offer smaller Airline compatible and extended range pack options.
Adjustable ArmrestsLearn More
ABBY's comfortable, padded armrests lock into position and are easily lowered for joystick clearance to fit underneath standard desks and tabletops so you can get as close as possible to the work surface. They also swing up and back to clear the way to transfer in and out of ABBY.
Quick Release ComponentsLearn More
ABBY is based on the traditional rear-wheel-drive chair format with push-handles and a folding X-frame to be as portable and versatile as possible. Its easy to assemble and disassemble ABBY in seconds without tools and when disassembled, ABBY is easy to lift into a vehicle trunk or back seat.
3 Speed RangesLearn More
Select between SLOW, MEDIUM, and FAST speed ranges. Slow is ideal for indoor use and when maneuvering in tight spaces. Medium is ideal to match the walking pace of companions. Fast is for when you really need to get somewhere. In the future, each speed range setting will be configurable using the upcoming Mobil App.
Rear View Camera SystemLearn More
The rear view camera clips onto the frame underneath ABBY and is connected with a single waterproof plug. It can switched on manually or configured to turn on automatically when the chair is backing up. The configuration page lets you set a timer to automatically switch back to the normal controller screen when using manual mode.
Lighting & SoundLearn More
The headlight is switched on and off with one of the physical rubberized buttons (2nd from the right). The taillights are on and flash for visibility by default and signal left and right turns automatically. Taillights can be switched off using the Joystick configuration menu. The Alert/Horn feature can be configured on its settings page. Users will be able to personalize with ringtones using the upcoming Mobile App.
Obstacle Sensing & AvoidanceLearn More
4-Corner distance sensor obstacle thresholds can be set using the settings menu. The distance in millimeters is displayed at the 4 corners of the touchscreen. When the distance to an obstacle crosses the threshold, the corner shows a Red warning. Alert & Stop cause an audible warning and driving to stop respectively. When using any hands-free driving mode, ABBY will always stop when an obstacle is detected.
Remote ControlLearn More
Connect your Smartphone or Tablet to the ABBY WiFi Access Point and scan the QR code to launch the remote control page. You'll see the view from the Joystick mounted front camera and a yellow circle for steering control. Just move the yellow circle to drive ABBY. Lifting your finger off the screen (or if the sensors detect an obstacle) will immediately stop movement.
Follow ModeLearn More
ABBY can follow an infrared beacon or an April Tag (a special type of QR code) however the performance in all lighting conditions is not good enough yet. We're in the process of switching over to a new Machine Learning mode which will let the user train the front camera to follow a specific person (without confusion in crowded spaces or low ambient light conditions).
